Trek Bicycle has released the Madone Gen 8, a new road bike that combines the lightness of the Émonda frameset with the speed of the Madone Gen 7. This model was developed in collaboration with Trek’s professional riders and will be used by the Lidl-Trek team during the 2024 Tour de France, which starts on June 29 in Florence, Italy, and finishes on July 21 in Nice, France. The Madone Gen 8 aims to provide aspiring racers and cycling enthusiasts with the same advanced technology as professional riders.
Whitney Beadle, Trek Road Marketing Manager, highlighted that the Madone Gen 8 eliminates the need to choose between a fast or lightweight bike. It incorporates the best features of Trek’s racing models, making it suitable for various riding conditions, from flat roads to challenging climbs. The bike’s design includes new tube shapes called Full System Foil, which enhance airflow and enable riders to achieve top speeds.
The Madone Gen 8’s SLR models use 900 OCLV carbon, which is up to 20% stronger than previous materials and requires less material, resulting in a lighter bike. Additionally, the bike features IsoFlow comfort technology, which reduces weight and absorbs road bumps, allowing for longer and more comfortable rides. The new RSL Aero Bottles and Cages further enhance the bike’s aerodynamic performance.
