Subway is continuing its Summer of Footlongs with significant menu updates that include new flavors, textures, and the return of fan favorites. The latest additions are featured on three new signature subs, following the recent introduction of Footlong Dippers. This menu refresh aims to enhance the famous footlong subs with spicy, tangy, and crunchy elements.
The new and returning signature sauces include Cheesy Garlic Steak, Honey Mustard BBQ Chicken, and Spicy Nacho Chicken, all featuring bold ingredients and familiar flavors. After a three-year absence, Subway’s sweet and tangy BBQ sauce has returned, characterized by hints of hickory smoke, black pepper, red pepper, and warm spices. Additionally, Subway has introduced a new Cheddar Cheese sauce, a blend of sharp cheddar, American cheese, and parmesan, ideal for pairing with the Auntie Anne’s Footlong Pretzel and Footlong Dippers or for adding a creamy touch to any footlong sub.
Subway also launched SubKrunch, a crunchy topping designed to add flavor and texture to sandwiches, wraps, and salads. These crispy bits are seasoned and fried to perfection, providing an audible crunch with every bite.
The new signature subs featuring these sauces and toppings are:
- Honey Mustard BBQ Chicken: This sub includes rotisserie-style chicken topped with Monterey Cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and pickles, drizzled with Honey Mustard and BBQ sauce.
- Spicy Nacho Chicken: This sub features rotisserie-style chicken with green peppers, red onions, jalapeños, SubKrunch, Cheddar Cheese sauce, and Creamy Sriracha sauce.
- Cheesy Garlic Steak: This sub contains sliced steak topped with green peppers, red onions, SubKrunch, Roasted Garlic Aioli, and Cheddar Cheese sauce.
Paul Fabre, Senior Vice President of Culinary Innovation at Subway, stated that the menu update aims to offer great flavors at a great value, providing guests with new ways to enjoy their footlong subs and snacks. These new offerings encourage customers to visit Subway this summer to try the latest additions.
Additionally, Subway restaurants now offer exclusive Doritos Sweet & Tangy BBQ chips for a limited time. These chips provide a remix on traditional BBQ flavor with added sweetness, complex spices, and tanginess, complementing the new menu items.
