Rescue Village has announced Sally, a 4-year-old Havanese, as the 2024 Woofstock Alpha Dog. Sally’s owners are strong supporters of Rescue Village, with her dog mom, Barbara Corns, expressing their long-standing support for the organization’s work with animals. As the leader of the Woofstock dog pack, Sally has been featured in the event’s logo, which was designed by nationally syndicated cartoonist Jenny Campbell.
The 31st annual Woofstock dog festival, organized by Rescue Village, will be held on Sunday, September 8th, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cleveland Metroparks Polo Field. This award-winning festival is a fundraiser aimed at helping homeless animals and provides a day of activities for dogs and their owners. The event includes live music, a beer garden with local brews, various vendors, and games and contests for dogs, such as dock diving and lure courses.
Woofstock has been recognized by Cleveland Magazine’s readers as a Best of the East award winner for the past two years. More details about last year’s event can be viewed in a video available at https://youtu.be/AkyUZ_IwwxQ.
Solon Manufacturing Co., a company that engineers and manufactures Belleville springs and washer products for industrial bolting applications, is the presenting sponsor for the 2024 Woofstock. The company has provided engineered solutions for OEMs and distributors in over sixty countries. Additional sponsors will be announced in August, and sponsorship opportunities remain available.
Participants can support Rescue Village by joining the traditional Ramble, a fundraising walk and parade that is part of the Woofstock festivities. Ramblers can raise funds individually or in teams, receiving a special goody bag and a professional photo of their pet. Prizes will be awarded to top fundraisers in several categories.
