RBW EV Cars, the only UK-based manufacturer of new, hand-crafted electric British classic sports cars, has unveiled its first left-hand drive Roadster and GT models at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. These models are the first production vehicles from the company to be specifically built for the U.S. market, which is RBW’s largest single market. The global debut of the RBW GT also marks the first appearance of this EV coupe, originally designed by the Italian design firm Pininfarina.

Both the left-hand drive GT and Roadster models are new, hand-built electric vehicles that draw inspiration from iconic British sports cars of the 1960s and 1970s. These models feature entirely new body shells and modern technical upgrades. The unveiling took place during Monterey Car Week, where the vehicles are being showcased from August 15th to 18th at the manufacturer’s exhibit in Concours Village.

The RBW GT is a performance-oriented, classic British sports car that has been electrified. It retains its rear-wheel drive, thanks to RBW’s patented EV subframe, and boasts a near-perfect 50/50 weight balance. This setup, combined with the car’s structural rigidity, offers a refined driving experience. The two-door coupe, a variant of the RBW Roadster, is expected to receive a faster powertrain next year, potentially reducing its 0-60 mph time to under eight seconds. The Roadster, now available with left-hand drive, offers a driving range of up to 160 miles.

The interior of the new left-hand drive Roadster is produced entirely in-house by RBW. It features hand-stitched leather seats and custom dash trims, allowing for a high level of personalization based on customer preferences. Modern technology, such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 9-inch Pioneer touchscreen multimedia player, and satellite navigation, are integrated into the design.

RBW’s attention to detail and commitment to quality are evident in the hand-built process of each vehicle. The company’s name, derived from the initials of the founder’s three children, underscores the family-run nature of the business. RBW currently manufactures these vehicles at its Lichfield, England facility, with future production planned for a new U.S. factory, the announcement of which is expected on August 16th.

The RBW Roadster is priced starting at $139,000, while the GT model starts at $151,000. Prospective buyers can configure their vehicles on RBW’s website, choosing from various options such as paint color, rooftop, interior, and wheel style. The website also supports multiple languages for international customers. For more information or to inquire about purchasing a vehicle, visit RBWEVCars.com or contact RBW by phone.
