NUTRO, a natural pet food brand, is hosting a Farmers Market for Dogs at The Park in The Grove, Los Angeles, on Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event, designed in collaboration with pet behaviorists, focuses on offering dog-friendly activities and experiences. It will feature sensory touchpoints for dogs, including snout-level tables, pet-safe food, and interactive elements for dogs to engage with their surroundings. Actor and advocate Ian Somerhalder, alongside his dog Sequoia, will be present at the event.
The market is created with canine needs in mind, providing a space for dogs to enjoy fresh produce, treats, and toys. In addition, pet parents can participate in educational demonstrations about soil health, emphasizing the importance of sustainable practices for future food growth. NUTRO aims to raise awareness of soil degradation, referencing data from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, which suggests that 90 percent of Earth’s soil could be degraded by 2050.
The market will include several features for both dogs and their owners, including readings from “Paw-strologists,” pet-safe floral arrangements, and opportunities for dogs to select their own produce and treats. Visitors will also have the chance to receive free NUTRO products and a limited-edition farmers market tote bag while supplies last.
The event’s broader purpose aligns with NUTRO’s GREATER GROUND initiative, which advocates for sustainable farming practices to ensure long-term food production for both humans and pets. The market aims to connect pet owners with this mission while providing a day of activities for their dogs.
