Swiss luxury watchmaker Breitling has announced a long-term licensing agreement with the National Football League (NFL), marking the first collaboration between a Swiss watch brand and the major American sports league. The agreement will see the launch of the Breitling Chronomat NFL Collection, featuring watches that represent each of the 32 NFL teams. Each watch will incorporate the team’s colors and logos, with the NFL logo engraved on the caseback. The collection is limited to 104 pieces per team in honor of the NFL’s 104th anniversary.
The Breitling Chronomat NFL watches come with signature Chronomat features, including raised rider tabs at 15-minute intervals, an easy-grip onion crown, and a triple-register dial with an integrated date display. Each model is equipped with the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, a COSC-certified chronometer, offering a 70-hour power reserve and a five-year warranty. The stainless-steel watches also feature a water resistance of up to 200 meters and a rouleaux bracelet. The hands are coated with luminescent Super-LumiNova, ensuring visibility in various lighting conditions.
Breitling CEO Georges Kern commented that the partnership aligns with Breitling’s values, citing the NFL’s emphasis on responsibility and integrity. The brand has a long-standing connection to the sport, with former NFL quarterback Boomer Esiason serving as a Breitling Ambassador for over three decades. More recently, NFL players and coaches like Trevor Lawrence, CJ Mosley, and Jahmyr Gibbs have been associated with the brand, further solidifying Breitling’s presence in the football world.
The NFL is a major professional sports league in North America, with a dedicated fan base. Its regular season spans 18 weeks from September to January, with each team playing 17 games. After the regular season, the playoffs lead to the Super Bowl, a major sporting event held annually in February.
To celebrate the release of the Chronomat NFL Editions, Breitling hosted a launch event in New York City, bringing together notable figures from sports and fashion.
