Casio America, Inc., a leader in educational technology, will participate in several key mathematics education events in 2024, including the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Annual Meeting, the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM) event, and the Association of State Supervisors of Mathematics (ASSM) Annual Meeting. These engagements, along with partnerships with organizations such as Open Up Resources, demonstrate Casio’s commitment to enhancing mathematics education through innovation and collaboration.
At the NCTM 2024, scheduled for September 25–28 in Chicago, Casio (booth No. 834) will showcase its comprehensive line of calculators designed for educational purposes, including scientific and graphing models. A highlight will be the fx-CG100, part of the ClassWiz family, which standardizes keypad layouts across Casio calculators for easier transitions between models. Originally developed for the French market as the GRAPH MATH+ Lycée, its U.S. launch is planned for back-to-school 2025. Additionally, Casio will present updates to ClassPad.net, featuring emulators for the fx-991CW scientific calculator and the fx-9750GIII graphing calculator.
Casio will also engage at the NCSM event from September 23–25 in Chicago and the ASSM Annual Meeting from September 20–23 in Baltimore. At NCSM, Casio has a history of active participation and will sponsor conference bags and volunteer T-shirts. At ASSM, Casio’s sponsorship of a reception will facilitate direct interaction with educational leaders.
Jim Gross, General Manager of Casio’s EdTech Division, emphasized the company’s commitment to educational technology, stating, “Our participation in events like NCTM, NCSM, and ASSM underscores our dedication to providing tools that meet the evolving needs of educators and students.”
In addition, Casio continues its partnership with Open Up Resources, a nonprofit focused on equitable learning for PreK–12 students. This collaboration integrates Casio’s technology into the Open Up Resources 6–8 Math curricula, currently aligned with the Algebra I module. Dr. Kristopher J. Childs from Open Up Resources highlighted the partnership’s role in advancing equitable access to quality mathematics education, ensuring all students have opportunities for academic success.
