In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene across six southeastern states, Purina has announced a $25,000 grant to Greater Good Charities to support ongoing rescue and relief efforts. The grant will help fund emergency supplies such as food, medical items, and hygiene kits for those displaced by the storm. Additionally, it will aid in transporting shelter pets to safer areas.
Purina has a long-standing commitment to assisting communities affected by natural disasters, and this donation continues that tradition. Kim Beardslee, Director of Community Affairs at Purina, expressed the company’s sympathy for those affected and emphasized its dedication to supporting Greater Good Charities’ life-saving work.
Greater Good Charities, which has teams on the ground in the affected areas, is distributing food, water, and survival supplies to families, while also providing pet food and veterinary supplies to nonprofits caring for displaced animals. The organization is also assisting beekeepers whose hives were destroyed and transporting shelter pets to safer locations. In addition to the grant, Purina is working with its U.S.-based manufacturing facilities to send thousands of pounds of pet food and cat litter to shelters in the impacted areas.
Since 2017, Purina has donated over $400,000 and more than 700,000 pounds of pet food and litter to support victims of natural disasters in the U.S., further demonstrating its ongoing commitment to helping people and pets during times of crisis.
