Lysol, a brand under Reckitt, is addressing airborne viruses and odor-causing bacteria through its Lysol Air Sanitizer. This weekend, the company will present The Germ Zone experience in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, at Champions Lane, the pregame fan fest area for the Crimson Tide located outside the northwest gates of Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
During Saturday’s game, fans will have the opportunity to enter The Germ Zone booth where they can sing their team’s fight song. Virtual reality technology will illustrate the virus and bacteria droplets released into the air as fans chant and cheer. Following the activity, Lysol Air Sanitizer will eliminate 99.9% of the airborne virus and bacteria droplets generated, while also removing odors from the air.
Benoit Veryser, Vice President of US Marketing for Lysol at Reckitt, stated that The Germ Zone provides a chance to educate consumers about the importance of air sanitization. He emphasized that while scent can mask odors, Lysol Air Sanitizer effectively kills viruses and bacteria in the air.
Actor, producer, and author Taye Diggs will be present at The Germ Zone to engage with fans and provide information on the benefits of Lysol Air Sanitizer for watch parties. Diggs highlighted the product’s role in maintaining sanitized air during football season gatherings, noting its ability to eliminate both odor-causing bacteria and airborne viruses.
In addition to the event, Diggs has curated the Germ Zone Essentials Pack, which includes Lysol Air Sanitizer and other game day hosting items. Fans can enter a sweepstakes to receive this pack by commenting with the hashtag #LysolGermZoneSweeps on Lysol’s Instagram posts. Participants who use the hashtag will receive a direct message with a link to submit their information for a chance to win. The packs are available for order nationwide or on-demand in select markets, subject to terms and conditions.
Lysol’s initiative aims to promote air sanitization and provide essential products to enhance the safety and comfort of fans both at the event and in their homes during the football season.
