Outdoor footwear brand Merrell has once again partnered with Jeep, the off-road automotive brand, to release a new line of hiking shoes inspired by Merrell’s Moab Speed 2 model and Jeep’s electrified Wrangler 4xe. This marks the second collaboration between the two companies, combining advancements in hiking gear with the Jeep brand’s approach to sustainable, off-road driving. The new Merrell x Jeep Moab Speed 2 unisex hiking shoes will be available in four color options, influenced by Jeep’s paint palette, and will retail for $180 in the U.S. and $190 in Canada starting November 12.
The footwear incorporates design elements that reflect Jeep’s automotive style, such as a metallic upper reminiscent of car finishes, mesh underlays resembling a radiator grill, and seatbelt-inspired webbing. Additionally, the shoes feature accents in electric blue, similar to Jeep’s 4xe trim, symbolizing the company’s emphasis on sustainability. Other features include a FloatPro Foam midsole for comfort, Vibram lugs for traction, and recycled materials in the mesh lining, laces, and webbing.
Following a successful partnership in 2023 centered around Merrell’s Moab 3 hiking boot, this 2024 collaboration aims to appeal to consumers interested in both innovation and eco-conscious outdoor exploration. The launch will include a promotional road trip from Michigan to Nevada with content creators sharing their journey on Merrell’s Instagram, allowing fans to engage with the product’s testing phase and enter for giveaway opportunities.
The collection will also be available through major retailers such as Zappos in the United States and Sports Experts in Canada, with IMG facilitating the partnership. The latest Merrell x Jeep collaboration is designed to appeal to a new generation of outdoor enthusiasts by combining Merrell’s hiking technology with Jeep’s off-road and eco-friendly innovations.
