Meijer is once again partnering with its customers to support Midwest communities through the Simply Give hunger relief program during Thanksgiving week. From November 24 to 30, the retailer will donate the equivalent of one meal to its Simply Give food pantry partners for every purchase that includes a Meijer brand, Frederik’s by Meijer, True Goodness by Meijer, or Purple Cow food item. This initiative has provided 4 million meals annually over the past two years, a milestone Meijer aims to reach again this year.
Since its inception in 2008, the Simply Give program has supported hundreds of food pantries across the Midwest, donating more than $90 million to date. In 2024 alone, over 450 food pantries participated, benefiting from the program’s ongoing efforts to stock shelves and assist families in need.
Melissa Conway, Meijer’s Director of Community Partnerships & Giving, emphasized the importance of the initiative during the holiday season. “When each of us includes a Meijer brand item in our Thanksgiving meal, we’re nourishing hope for communities across the Midwest,” she said. Ben Hamlin, Director of Own Brand Foods at Meijer, highlighted the impact of the program, noting that it provides a way for customers to make a difference while enjoying Meijer’s wide selection of high-quality products.
Meijer’s Simply Give program continues to exemplify its commitment to addressing food insecurity year-round, particularly during the holidays when the need is greatest.
