L’Oréal Paris USA hosted its 19th annual Women of Worth Celebration on November 21, 2024, at NeueHouse Hollywood in Los Angeles. The event highlighted ten honorees recognized for their leadership in nonprofit organizations addressing critical social issues. The evening included appearances by L’Oréal Paris spokeswomen Elle Fanning, Cara Delevingne, Helen Mirren, Aja Naomi King, and Andie MacDowell, alongside special guests Sophia Bush, Bethenny Frankel, and Sofia Carson.
The Women of Worth program provides each honoree with a $25,000 grant through L’Oréal Paris’ partner, GlobalGiving, as well as access to mentorship opportunities and a platform to share their work nationally. The program also launched the L’Oréal Paris Women of Worth Fund, enabling public donations to benefit the honorees equally. Donations can be made through GlobalGiving to support their ongoing efforts.
The 2024 honorees lead organizations tackling a range of issues, including voter engagement, support for refugees, access to mammograms, and youth environmental advocacy. Honorees include Danelle Umstead of Sisters in Sports Foundation, Hillary Cohen of Every Day Action, Jahnavi Rao of New Voters, Laura Pahules of Control Alt Delete, Lisa Hoeve of Hope Pkgs, Meymuna Hussein-Cattan of The Tiyya Foundation, Rania Zuri of The LiTEArary Society, Sheri Mathis of Mammogram Poster Girls, Dr. Tonya Stafford of It’s Going to Be OK, and Wawa Gatheru of Black Girl Environmentalist.
The event can be streamed starting December 6, 2024, on the Women of Worth website and the L’Oréal Paris YouTube channel. As L’Oréal Paris approaches the program’s 20th anniversary, nominations for the 2025 honorees are open until March 8, 2025, on International Women’s Day. Those selected will receive a $25,000 grant, mentorship, and a platform to share their stories.
