Earth’s Best, a recognized organic baby brand in the United States, has announced that its entire line of organic infant formula and toddler milk drinks is now fully available in distribution centers across the country. This development comes after a significant shortage of infant formula that began in 2021. The shortage was largely attributed to supply chain disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, compounded by a major recall from one of the largest suppliers in the industry. At the peak of the crisis, over 40% of the nation’s infant formula supply was out of stock, leading to widespread difficulties for caregivers in sourcing adequate nutrition for their children.
Chad Marquardt, President of Hain Celestial North America, stated that Earth’s Best Organic infant formula and toddler milk drinks are now fully stocked. He emphasized the brand’s commitment to providing high-quality organic options, noting that Earth’s Best offers four types of USDA certified organic formulas: dairy, sensitivity, gentle, and toddler. These products are designed to meet the dietary needs of infants and toddlers.
The market for powdered infant formula is valued at approximately $5 billion and continues to grow. Earth’s Best, which launched its organic formula in 2006, has established a strong presence in the market, with consumer awareness exceeding 70% and a notable brand loyalty, as evidenced by 83% of its dairy formula shoppers preferring not to switch to alternative brands. The brand has also received recognition as the Best Organic Baby Formula of 2024 from BabyCenter.
To address the previous supply issues, Hain Celestial collaborated closely with its supplier, Perrigo, which has implemented advanced technology and quality control measures to comply with evolving regulations. As a result, distribution of Earth’s Best Organic formula and toddler drinks has resumed at both traditional and online retailers.
Manufactured in the United States with globally sourced ingredients, Earth’s Best produces its infant formulas in facilities located in Vermont and Ohio. All formulas are USDA certified organic, made from non-GMO ingredients, and include milk sourced from grass and grain-fed cows. They are formulated to provide 30 essential vitamins and minerals necessary for infant growth and development, and are designed to be easy to digest, containing omega-3 DHA and omega-6 ARA to support brain and eye development.
