Sazerac Company has announced a fundraiser aimed at supporting wildfire relief efforts in California. The initiative will offer consumers the opportunity to purchase three exclusive prize packages that feature rare bourbons from Buffalo Trace Distillery. All proceeds from the fundraiser will be directed to two non-profit organizations: World Central Kitchen, which is providing meals to those affected in Southern California, and Another Round Another Rally, which is offering financial assistance to hospitality workers impacted by the wildfires.
The fundraiser includes an auction for the first-ever single barrel of Pappy Van Winkle 15 Year Old bourbon. This barrel has been specially selected and is expected to yield approximately 125 bottles. The funds raised from this auction will be split equally between World Central Kitchen and Another Round Another Rally. Additionally, there are two sweepstakes available. The first sweepstakes offers a complete bottle set of the Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Collection, which includes six different bourbons. Proceeds from this sweepstakes will benefit World Central Kitchen. The second sweepstakes features a bottle of Eagle Rare 25, the oldest bourbon in the Eagle Rare portfolio, with funds supporting Another Round Another Rally.
Recent wildfires in Los Angeles have resulted in significant destruction, with over 50,000 acres burned and more than 16,000 structures destroyed. The fires have also claimed at least 28 lives. In response to the crisis, World Central Kitchen has mobilized to provide meals to those in need, having served over 600,000 meals since the onset of the wildfires. Meanwhile, Another Round Another Rally has provided over $100,000 in financial aid to hospitality workers affected by the disaster.
Those interested in participating in the fundraiser can bid on the Pappy Van Winkle 15 Year Old single barrel starting at $10,000, with bids increasing in increments of $1,000. For the sweepstakes, participants can enter by donating $50, with no limit on the total amount donated. The winners will receive a monetary prize equivalent to the value of the items won.
