Lifeway Foods, Inc., a prominent supplier of kefir and fermented probiotic products in the United States, has announced the expansion of its Farmer Cheese distribution to 1,400 Albertsons stores nationwide. This initiative aims to introduce the product to a broader audience.
Lifeway Farmer Cheese is a cultured soft cheese produced using an artisanal recipe. It offers a flavor and texture akin to blended cottage cheese and can be spread like cream cheese. Each serving contains 15 grams of protein, 12 live and active probiotics, and is high in calcium. The product is designed to be up to 99% lactose-free and gluten-free, with no added salt, resulting in lower sodium content compared to many cottage cheese options.
The demand for high-protein and probiotic foods has been increasing, prompting Lifeway to enhance the distribution of its Farmer Cheese through its partnership with Albertsons. Julie Smolyansky, President and CEO of Lifeway, noted that the product has gained popularity, influenced by social media endorsements and viral recipes featuring blended cottage cheese. Lifeway Farmer Cheese has been a preferred choice in specialty stores since its launch and continues to attract attention from consumers and retailers alike. The product is currently available on Albertsons shelves.
