Bonduelle, a prominent global provider of plant-based products, has introduced a new line of ready-to-eat Lunch Bowls aimed at college students, young professionals, and individuals with busy lifestyles. These Lunch Bowls are designed to offer convenient meal options that do not compromise on quality or taste.
The Lunch Bowls are crafted with 100% plant-powered ingredients and contain over 10 grams of protein. They come in brightly designed, microwave-safe packaging, allowing consumers to enjoy them directly from the bag or heat them for a warm meal. Bobby Chacko, CEO of Bonduelle Americas, stated, “We know that the majority (77%) of Gen Z live busy lifestyles and are looking for quick and easy meal options that don’t sacrifice on taste.”
Currently, four varieties of Lunch Bowls are available, each featuring unique flavors and textures. The options include Spanish Fusion, which combines smoky paprika with lentils and bulgur; Southwest Fusion, which incorporates quinoa, chickpeas, and corn; Mediterranean Fusion, featuring farro and black-eyed peas; and Indian Fusion, which includes aromatic spices and roasted vegetables. The suggested retail price for these bowls is $4.99.
Bonduelle is launching a campus campaign in Southern California, targeting major universities such as UCLA, UC Irvine, and USC. The campaign aims to introduce the Lunch Bowls to students during various activities, emphasizing their convenience and portability.
This product launch signifies a significant shift for Bonduelle, which has a long history in fresh produce. The company is evolving from a produce-focused brand to a modern consumer goods entity, with plans to unify its product lines under the Bonduelle brand by July 2025. Chacko remarked, “We’re not just launching a product – we’re launching a movement,” indicating the company’s commitment to making plant-rich food accessible to a broader audience.
