Lavazza Group has introduced the Tablì system during Milan Design Week 2025, in collaboration with Brazilian architect and designer Juliana Lima Vasconcellos. This innovative system aims to provide a new experience centered around 100% coffee. This development is significant for Lavazza, which is marking its 130th anniversary, as well as for the broader coffee industry, as it presents a solution that is currently absent from the market.
The Tablì system features a 100% coffee tab along with a machine designed for efficient delivery, promising a modern consumption experience. It is the first product of its kind, resulting from extensive research and development that has led to over 15 patents. Carlo Colpo, Lavazza Group’s Marketing Communication and Brand Home Director, emphasized the importance of innovation, stating, “Constant challenges and the quest for innovation have always driven the Group in its continuous improvement of the product offering.” He noted that the unveiling of Tablì at Milan Design Week was intentional, aiming to create an immersive experience for visitors.
The installation, titled Source of Pleasure, is open to the public from April 6 to 13 and is situated in the courtyard of Palazzo del Senato, which houses the Milan State Archives. Vasconcellos designed this site-specific installation to reflect the intersection of Lavazza’s heritage and future, merging tradition with innovation. She elaborated on her vision, expressing that coffee is integral to her life and that the installation aims to encapsulate the sensory experience associated with it.
The structure spans 18 meters in diameter, creating a tranquil atmosphere reminiscent of coffee’s colors. Visitors enter through a tunnel that engages multiple senses, leading to a room featuring a fountain that symbolizes the life-giving essence of coffee. The final area, a well-lit lounge, is designed to celebrate the Tablì experience and invites exploration of Lavazza’s new offering. Lavazza has been dedicated to the art of coffee since 1895, evolving from its origins in Turin into a global symbol of Italian excellence in coffee culture.
