Wynn Signature, the exclusive lifestyle brand of Wynn, organized the Wynn Signature Chinese Wine Awards ceremony in Macao, supported by the Macao Government Tourism Office. The event attracted over 200 participants, including wine experts, representatives from leading Chinese wineries, industry professionals, international media, and wine enthusiasts, all gathered to recognize the best wines produced in China.

The ceremony awarded the Renyiyuan Tao Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 from Ningxia Helan Mountain Renyiyuan Winery with the title of “Best Wine of China.” This year’s awards were evaluated by a panel of 27 judges, comprising leading wine authorities. The judging process involved blind tastings of nearly 900 varieties from around 200 wineries, adhering to the internationally recognized 100-point scoring system.

In addition to the top award, the event introduced two new categories: “Wynn Sommelier’s Choice” and “Best Young Winemaker.” The Renyiyuan Tao Cabernet Sauvignon also received awards for “Best Red Wine,” “Best of Ningxia,” and “Best Cabernet Sauvignon.” Winemaker Kai Kang from the same winery was recognized as the first recipient of the “Best Young Winemaker” award.

Other notable winners included the Helan Mountain Special Reserve Chardonnay 2021, which was awarded “Best White Wine” and “Best Chardonnay,” and the Domaine Franco-Chinois Reserve Marselan 2012, which received accolades for “Best of North China” and “Best Marselan.” The Tiansai Sparkling Wine 2017 was recognized as “Best of Xinjiang” and “Best Sparkling Wine.”

The event was attended by prominent figures, including representatives from the Macao SAR Government and executives from Wynn Macau, who emphasized the importance of promoting Chinese wines and enhancing Macao’s reputation as a hub for international cultural exchange. Ms. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office, highlighted the awards’ role in showcasing Macao as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.

Following the awards, Wynn plans to promote the winning wines through its restaurants and events, aiming to expand the global presence of Chinese wines. This initiative aligns with Macao’s strategic goals to integrate tourism and gastronomy, enhancing its appeal as a destination for diverse cultural experiences.

Wynn will also feature the award-winning wines in its restaurants and is set to host a wine tasting event at 67 Pall Mall, a private wine club in Singapore, inviting members and wine professionals to experience the recognized Chinese wines. The ongoing promotion of these wines aims to bolster the international reputation of the Chinese wine industry.
