Zenni Optical has launched a new collection called EcoBloomz, which emphasizes sustainability in everyday eyewear. The collection is constructed from responsibly sourced materials, aiming to provide durable and stylish frames while also promoting eco-friendly practices. The pricing is positioned to remain accessible for consumers.
In an effort to mitigate environmental impact, Zenni Optical will allocate one percent of the proceeds from EcoBloomz to the Wyland Foundation. This organization is dedicated to the promotion, protection, and preservation of the world’s oceans, waterways, and marine life.
The EcoBloomz frames utilize a blend of recycled and bio-based materials. One of the key components is bio-based acetate, which is made from renewable plant-based resources such as castor bean oil, wood pulp, and cotton. This choice aims to provide a sustainable alternative that does not sacrifice quality or aesthetics.
Additionally, the collection includes frames made from 85% upcycled PET plastic, which repurposes materials such as water bottles that might otherwise contribute to landfill waste. This initiative is designed to help lower carbon emissions and reduce overall waste.
Furthermore, the frames feature a hybrid design that combines recycled stainless steel with bio-based acetate, ensuring both durability and comfort. Aysegul Colakel, a designer at Zenni, stated, “This line showcases our commitment to both style and sustainability. We’ve paid meticulous attention to every detail, with frames crafted from high-premium bio-based and recycled materials to the final design, ensuring an eco-conscious collection with style.”
Zenni Optical’s EcoBloomz collection represents a step towards more responsible eyewear production while maintaining a focus on quality and consumer accessibility.
