Zatarain’s has reformulated its Cajun Style Smoked Sausage, now available at grocery stores nationwide. The updated recipe brings a more robust flavor profile that aligns more closely with the brand’s New Orleans heritage, enhancing dishes from weeknight meals to large seafood boils.
Crafted with a blend of paprika, black pepper, red pepper, oregano, and thyme, the sausage is smoked and seasoned to highlight the bold flavors of Louisiana cuisine. The relaunch responds to customer feedback calling for a stronger New Orleans flavor experience. According to Valda Coryat, North America VP of Marketing at McCormick & Company, the new spice profile delivers a well-rounded taste designed to elevate everyday meals and seasonal gatherings.
Zatarain’s Cajun Style Smoked Sausage is being featured in new recipes, including one from longtime brand partner and cookbook author Joy Wilson (@joythebaker). Her take on a stovetop shrimp boil with garlic butter sauce pairs the smoky sausage with shrimp, corn, and potatoes for a home-friendly version of the classic boil.
With seafood boil season underway, the refreshed sausage aims to become a centerpiece in spring and summer cooking traditions. Zatarain’s continues to position itself as a go-to brand for authentic Southern flavor.
