Cat Footwear, a division of Wolverine World Wide and the official footwear licensee of Caterpillar, is commemorating Caterpillar Inc.’s 100th anniversary with the launch of a special Centennial boot collection. The limited-edition release features three distinct boots, each paying tribute to a landmark moment in engineering history that highlights Caterpillar’s global legacy.
Available starting today, the collection honors three major achievements: the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Apollo 11 Moon Landing, and the Channel Tunnel project. Each boot is designed to reflect the spirit and visual identity of the event it represents, while incorporating the durability and utility Cat Footwear is known for.
The Golden Gate Bridge Boot includes a structural cage design and a cable-like lacing system that mimic the bridge’s iconic suspension framework. Gold-tone hardware and detailing nod to the bridge’s name and status as a feat of 20th-century engineering.
The Apollo 11 Boot draws inspiration from the lunar landing with a lightweight, stacked sole designed for agility and comfort. Its brushed, dusty surface evokes the appearance of moon dust, symbolizing the first human steps on the moon in 1969.
The Channel Tunnel Boot celebrates the engineering marvel that connected Great Britain with mainland Europe. It features a functioning headlight and illuminated sole elements designed to represent trains passing through the tunnel.
According to Thomas Kennedy, Group President of Wolverine Work, the boots are “crafted as a tribute to the monumental feats that have shaped our world,” representing both Caterpillar’s history and its ongoing influence on global infrastructure.
This Centennial collection serves as both a celebration of the past 100 years and a statement of continued commitment to innovation and resilience in the world of heavy industry and workwear.
