World of Coffee, the Long Island roaster that has furnished beans to New York diners, landmark restaurants and gourmet shops since 1984, has introduced the first officially licensed I Love NY coffee. The inaugural offering—a proprietary medium roast made entirely from Arabica beans—has begun shipping to supermarkets, specialty retailers and e-commerce outlets nationwide. It will receive its public debut June 29–July 1 at the Summer Fancy Food Show in Manhattan’s Javits Center, one of New York State’s 11 Welcome Centers.

Company president and head roastmaster Charlie Newman says the goal was to mirror “the profile New Yorkers expect—rich, full-bodied and never timid.” To achieve that punch without bitterness, green coffee from Central and South America is roasted in small batches at World of Coffee’s Farmingdale facility, then cooled and ground while the oils are freshest. Each ten-ounce bag carries the classic I Love NY logotype and lists tasting notes of dark chocolate, roasted almond and a hint of citrus brightness.

World of Coffee, which roasts roughly two million pounds a year for bakeries such as Ferrara in Little Italy and institutions like Zabar’s, struck the licensing deal through Brand & Blend, the state program’s agency of record. Sarah Benson, the agency’s licensing director, says coffee was “a natural fit—fuel for commutes, late-night creativity and weekend adventures.” The partnership will expand later this summer with a dark-roast whole-bean espresso aimed at home baristas and restaurant machines.

Distribution has already begun through regional grocery chains in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut; Amazon listings and select tourist-center gift shops will follow in July. Additional products—single-serve pods and a decaf—are under review for 2026. Suggested retail runs $9.99 to $11.99 per ten-ounce bag, placing the line at the premium end of supermarket shelves yet below most single-origin specialty coffees. For World of Coffee, whose white-label blends often hide behind café branding, the I Love NY project offers a rare chance to put its own name—and the state’s most famous slogan—front and center.
