Leica Camera AG has announced the release of its second-generation instant camera, the Leica SOFORT 2. The camera is a hybrid model that allows users to capture digital images and print them instantly. It is designed with a modern, minimalist aesthetic and is available in three colors: black, red, and white. The camera’s user interface is consistent with other digital Leica cameras, featuring a user-friendly menu structure and button layout.
One of the key features of the SOFORT 2 is the ability to save digital images permanently. Users can select the best shots before printing them. The camera is compatible with the Leica FOTOS App, which allows for the transfer of photos from smartphones and other Leica cameras to the SOFORT 2 for instant printing. The prints are produced on Instax Mini format photo paper, and Leica offers exclusive photo paper with warm-white or golden frames.
The camera comes with multiple features to enhance creativity, including a selfie mode with a separate shutter button, a landscape mode with a wide-angle character, and a macro mode for close-ups from up to 10 cm. It also offers 10 lens and 10 film effects. In addition to the camera, Leica is offering a range of accessories such as wooden picture frames, wrist straps, carrying straps, and bags.
The Leica SOFORT 2 will be available for purchase starting November 9, 2023, at all Leica Stores, the Leica Online Store, and authorized dealers. The retail price in the United States is set at $389.00.
