Harold Perrineau, Malcolm D. Lee, Morris Chestnut, and Taye Diggs, known for their collaboration in the film “The Best Man,” have announced the launch of Sable Bourbon. The bourbon is crafted to be enjoyed among close acquaintances and reflects the enduring friendship of its creators. The name “Sable,” meaning “black,” symbolizes the depth and richness of their connection.
The four artists partnered with Bespoken Spirits, a craft whiskey producer recognized for its innovative aging techniques and flavor profile development. Bespoken Spirits has received 200 awards in three years. The team worked with the quartet over several years to develop the bourbon’s characteristics.
“Sable Bourbon” debuts on the 25th anniversary of “The Best Man,” coinciding with the film’s cultural impact and the personal bonds among its collaborators. The bourbon is made using a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley, resulting in a 94-proof spirit. Tasting notes include a deep golden-brown color with aromas of burnt sugar, pear compote, allspice, and marzipan. The palate features flavors of mocha and dark chocolate fudge, leading to an oak-forward finish with medium spice.
Sable Bourbon is available online at a suggested retail price of $59.99 for a 750mL bottle and is being introduced in retail locations across the United States. Additional information can be found on the company’s website and Instagram account.
