Amazon has introduced updates to its Fire TV product line. These updates include an improved conversational voice search feature that uses generative AI. The company has also launched new versions of its Fire TV Sticks, namely the Fire TV Stick 4K Max and the Fire TV Stick 4K. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max, priced at $59.99, comes with the Fire TV Ambient Experience and boasts a 2.0 GHz quad-core processor. It is also the first of its kind to support Wi-Fi 6E. This device offers 4K Ultra HD visuals, Dolby Vision, HDR, HDR10+, and Dolby Atmos audio. Additionally, it has 16GB of storage, which is twice the amount of its predecessor.
The Fire TV Ambient Experience, previously exclusive to the Fire TV Omni QLED Series, is now available on the Fire TV Stick 4K Max. This feature allows users to display various information and artwork on their TV screens. Amazon has also added new images to its collection of artwork for this feature, which now includes over 2,000 pieces from various international artists and institutions. Another upcoming feature, AI Art, will let users generate personalized backgrounds using voice commands.
The Fire TV Stick 4K, priced at $49.99, supports Wi-Fi 6 and has a 1.7 GHZ quad-core processor. It offers 4K Ultra HD visuals and supports various audio and visual technologies. With the Alexa Home Theater feature, users can connect the device to compatible Echo devices.
Amazon has also enhanced the Fire TV user experience by integrating generative AI, which allows for a more natural way of searching for content. A new “Continue Watching” row will also be added, showcasing content from various streaming providers. This feature will be available to U.S. customers later this year.
Additionally, U.S. customers who purchase a new Fire TV device can get a six-month subscription to MGM+ at no extra cost. This service provides access to a vast collection of movies and series from MGM and other major studios.
Amazon has also launched the Fire TV Soundbar, priced at $119.99. This two-channel device offers DTS® Virtual:X and Dolby Audio support. It has a compact design, measuring 24 inches, and can be connected to other devices via Bluetooth.
In terms of sustainability, the new Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Fire TV Stick 4K, and Fire TV Soundbar have received the Climate Pledge Friendly badge from the Carbon Trust. These devices have reduced carbon footprints, use sustainable materials, and have recyclable packaging. They also feature a Low Power Mode to conserve energy. Amazon aims to match the electricity consumption of all Fire TV devices with clean energy by 2025.
