J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines has unveiled a new brand identity and packaging for ARIEL Vineyards, its pioneering alcohol-removed wine label. Established in 1985, ARIEL Vineyards has been a leader in the non-alcoholic wine category, offering premium Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon wines crafted to deliver a sophisticated, alcohol-free experience.
The redesigned packaging features botanical illustrations and a lightweight bottle with a screwcap closure, reflecting the brand’s focus on wellness, balance, and sustainability. A QR code on each bottle provides consumers with access to ARIEL’s history and its innovative approach to winemaking, which combines traditional methods with a patented reverse osmosis process to retain natural flavors while removing alcohol.
ARIEL Cabernet Sauvignon delivers a blend of black currants, cherries, blueberries, and chocolate with soft tannins and a dry finish. Its subtle oak notes come from the aging process. ARIEL Chardonnay offers tropical fruit flavors paired with buttery apple and butterscotch tones, complemented by a toasty French oak bouquet. Both wines are gluten-free and have approximately half the calories of a traditional eight-ounce glass of wine.
The rebranding aligns with growing consumer interest in non-alcoholic beverages. According to the International Wine & Spirits Record, the category grew by 20% between 2021 and 2022, fueled in part by younger generations consuming less alcohol. ARIEL wines are produced from J. Lohr’s sustainable estate vineyards, ensuring quality and environmental stewardship.
