Automobili Pininfarina has unveiled Battista Targamerica, a unique one-off coach-built electric hypercar, marking the first of its kind delivered to a client. The vehicle made its world premiere at The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering, during Monterey Car Week. Battista Targamerica is the first client-commissioned coach-built car from Automobili Pininfarina, embodying the brand’s philosophy of creating “Dream Cars, Made Real.”
Commissioned by a well-known car collector and existing Battista owner, the vehicle features a range of personalizations that reflect the client’s individual tastes and life story. Hand-built in Cambiano by the atelier’s artisans, Battista Targamerica is designed to be a one-of-a-kind masterpiece that mirrors its owner’s personality and style. Following its debut, the car will be added to an exclusive private collection of rare and classic performance vehicles.
The vehicle’s design includes a striking silver and blue color scheme, with extensive re-engineering to accommodate its roofless profile, delivering a unique open-top driving experience. The design incorporates elements of Automobili Pininfarina’s PURA philosophy, blending timeless luxury with modern aesthetics. Battista Targamerica retains signature Automobili Pininfarina details, finished in a pure silver Argento Liquido Gloss with Iconica Blu Gloss accents.
The car was inspired by the 1986 Ferrari Testarossa Spider, a one-off created by Pininfarina for Gianni Agnelli, with design cues such as horizontal feature lines and a meticulous silver exterior. The rear underwing features hand-painted Iconica Blu pinstripes, showcasing the level of craftsmanship involved in the vehicle’s creation.
Inside, Battista Targamerica is upholstered in tan leather, with a contrasting black leather steering wheel and dashboard. The headrests are embossed with the Automobili Pininfarina ‘F’ logo, and the vehicle includes a bespoke cigar holder and humidor, integrated into the cabin as a nod to the client’s lifestyle. The interior design is complemented by a custom luggage set, matching the vehicle’s upholstery.
Battista Targamerica shares its performance capabilities with the Automobili Pininfarina Battista, Italy’s fastest road-legal car. Equipped with four independent electric motors and a 120kWh lithium-ion battery, it delivers 1,900hp and 2,340Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under two seconds, with a top speed exceeding 300km/h.
The creation of Battista Targamerica involved close collaboration between the client and Automobili Pininfarina’s design and engineering teams. The project challenged the team to maintain high performance levels without the support of a hard-body roof, resulting in a unique solution tailored to the client’s exact specifications.
