Beltone, a leading provider of hearing care in the United States, is set to launch the first-ever Auracast-enabled portable microphone, the Beltone Multi-Mic+, on August 22, 2024. This new device is designed to work seamlessly with Beltone Serene hearing aids and is intended to help individuals with hearing loss navigate noisy environments by amplifying the voices of one or more speakers while still allowing them to hear ambient sounds.
The Beltone Multi-Mic+ is a significant innovation in assistive listening technology. It is the first portable microphone in the world to incorporate Auracast, which allows users to stream audio directly to their Beltone Serene hearing aids at their preferred volume. The device also supports Telecoil, FM systems, and direct audio input (DAI), offering users versatile connectivity options for an improved listening experience.
In addition to the Multi-Mic+, Beltone is expanding its Beltone Serene product lineup with the introduction of two new hearing aid styles: a wireless In-the-Canal (ITC) hearing aid and a wireless CROS Behind-the-Ear (BTE) hearing aid. The Beltone Serene ITC hearing aid, which utilizes traditional batteries, offers a discreet and comfortable hearing solution with wireless connectivity for streaming audio from smartphones and other accessories. The new Beltone Serene CROS BTE hearing aids are rechargeable and provide an advanced solution for individuals with single-sided deafness. Both new styles are Bluetooth Low Energy (LE)-enabled, allowing for enhanced listening experiences and paving the way for Auracast connectivity.
Beltone’s expansion into Auracast technology demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing cutting-edge solutions that enhance the lives of individuals with hearing loss. The new devices aim to empower users by offering improved sound clarity and connectivity in various environments.
