Lux Row Distillers has announced the release of Blood Oath Pact 11, a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey that has been finished in Añejo tequila barrels. Master Distiller and Master Blender John Rempe has crafted this year’s blend, which consists of a combination of three bourbons: a 14-year rye, a 10-year wheated bourbon, and a 7-year rye that has undergone finishing in Añejo tequila barrels. Blood Oath Pact 11 is bottled at 98.6 proof, equivalent to 49.3% ABV.
The bourbon will be available for in-person purchase at Lux Row Distillers in Bardstown, Kentucky, starting at 9:30 a.m. on April 26. Each customer is limited to one bottle, and no reservations or shipping options will be offered. For those unable to visit, a limited supply of 17,000 cases will be distributed to retailers in April, with a suggested retail price of $129.99 per 750 mL bottle.
According to Rempe, the tasting profile of Blood Oath Pact 11 begins with vanilla and black pepper, followed by hints of cherry and citrus, culminating in a finish characterized by black cherry and dark chocolate. He emphasizes the influence of Añejo tequila barrels on the bourbon’s flavor, stating that they impart rich notes due to their aging process.
Lux Row Distillers releases one Blood Oath Pact each year, with this year’s bottle featuring a mahogany label with gold accents, housed in a fire-branded wooden display box. The total allocation for Blood Oath Pact 11 is 51,000 bottles, with 1,400 reserved for a future Trilogy release, following previous trilogies that showcased earlier Pacts. Each release has garnered attention for its unique characteristics and limited availability.
