Boss Design has launched three new furniture collections aimed at transforming workplaces into more inviting spaces across the United States. The new collections include the Remi tub chair, the Frida focus pod, and the Mews workplace pod system. These products emphasize comfort, sustainability, and customization to enhance the user experience.
The Remi chair, inspired by natural forms such as seashells and flowers, features a conical back and arms that wrap around a soft, rounded cushion. The chair is manufactured using Bio-Pur injection molded polyurethane foam, which has a carbon footprint 75% lower than traditional PU foam. Bio-Pur is produced from renewable resources like biomethane and bio-naphtha derived from agricultural biomass. Remi also incorporates a recyclable internal steel frame and FSC-certified recyclable timber. According to Mark Barrell, Design Director at Boss Design, Remi sets a new standard in furniture manufacturing by using environmentally friendly materials without compromising quality or comfort.
The Frida focus pod, which shares the same design DNA as Remi, offers a visually appealing and comfortable space for individual work. It features a sling seat surrounded by a foam-padded privacy screen, providing both visual and acoustic privacy. Frida’s design allows it to be configured in various ways, making it suitable for open-plan and shared workspaces, atriums, waiting areas, and travel lounges. Its cozy and intimate design aims to create a relaxing atmosphere in these environments.
The Mews Collection is a versatile workplace pod system designed for functionality and flexibility. It includes eight units that can accommodate different work activities such as individual tasks, videoconferencing, and small meetings. The collection offers comprehensive options for power and connectivity, fabric and upholstery, seating, desking, tabling, glazing, and curtaining. Inspired by traditional mews architecture and featuring Art Deco elements, the Mews pods include lighting, temperature, acoustic, and air quality features to create comfortable and ergonomic workspaces. Dan Chong, President of Boss Design North America, highlighted the potential of these new collections to transform workplaces into approachable and agile environments.
