Casio America has extended the G-Shock MR-G range with two titanium models, the MRGB2000BG-3A and the MRGB2000RG-3A. Both watches share a deep blue-green surface treatment inspired by kurogane-iro, the hue produced when iron is heated for traditional Japanese armor. The tone is achieved through deep-layer hardening followed by a green diamond-like carbon coating, a combination that adds scratch resistance and visual depth.
The MRGB2000BG-3A pairs the coated case with a matching titanium bracelet, while the MRGB2000RG-3A uses a fluoro-rubber strap branded as Drua Soft to lower weight and improve flexibility. Each watch incorporates design references to classical Japanese motifs, including an outer dial edge patterned after folding screens and sword-influenced applied indexes fabricated with micro-milling at Casio’s Yamagata facility. A clear case back reveals a gold-plated retention plate inside the radio-controlled quartz module, a component intended to reduce electrical resistance and help maintain timekeeping accuracy.
Technical specifications align with the MR-G series: shock resistance, ISO-compliant magnetic resistance, 200-meter water resistance, solar charging, multiband six radio reception, Bluetooth smartphone pairing, and a full suite of calendar, alarm, and timing functions. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and Sallaz-polished facets complete the exterior finishing. Casio has not yet announced retail pricing but indicates that both references will reach selected G-Shock retailers later this year.
