In recognition of National Cheddar Day, the Tillamook County Creamery Association (TCCA) is offering a promotional opportunity for cheese enthusiasts to win a substantial quantity of cheese, specifically 1,909 pounds. This date, February 13th, marks the anniversary of the establishment of the Tillamook co-operative in 1909. The contest will run until February 20th, 2025, allowing one participant to win nearly a metric ton of Tillamook Cheese.
The origins of the TCCA date back over a century when dairy farmers embarked on a journey aboard the Morning Star, a vessel constructed from their commitment to dairy production. This boat was utilized to distribute their products beyond the Oregon Coast. Kate Boltin, Executive Vice President of Marketing at TCCA, stated that the co-operative has maintained the same dedication to quality since its inception.
In addition to the grand prize, the first 15,000 entrants will receive a coupon for free cheese, valued up to $6.00. Interested individuals can enter the contest through the TCCA website.
As the brand approaches its 116th anniversary, it has launched a new marketing campaign that pays homage to the Morning Star, which is prominently featured on its packaging. This campaign aims to connect the brand’s historical roots with its current offerings. Sarah Block, Executive Vice President and Creative Director at Leo Chicago, emphasized that the Morning Star is integral to the brand’s identity and commitment to delivering high-quality dairy products.
The campaign, developed by Leo Chicago, highlights the cooperative’s foundation and includes various content that reflects on the brand’s rich history and diverse dairy product range. The initiative invites consumers to engage with the TCCA’s legacy, which has been in operation since 1909.
