Samsung Electronics has announced the introduction of a special edition of its television, The Frame, to mark Disney’s 100th anniversary. The limited edition, called The Frame-Disney100 Edition, will be available in 55, 65, and 75-inch models. It features a branded bezel and comes with 100 pieces of Disney art pre-loaded on the Samsung Art Store. Additionally, the TV set includes a remote control inspired by Disney’s Mickey Mouse character.
According to Cheolgi Kim, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, the limited edition aims to spotlight the unique features of The Frame, which has been designed to revolutionize the way screens are used and content is consumed.
Upon powering up, viewers will see a Samsung x Disney100 onscreen logo. The limited edition television has exclusive bezels in platinum silver metal, Disney’s signature color for its centenary celebration. The TV remote is also special to this edition, featuring a design inspired by Mickey Mouse.
Content-wise, the television comes with 100 pieces of art from Disney’s collection, featuring material from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and National Geographic. Users can display these works of art on their TV screens via the Samsung Art Store. The store also offers collections from international museums like the Louvre and Tate, as well as works from artists like Monet and Van Gogh.
The Frame was originally launched as a television set that could also function as a display for works of art. Its slim design and matte display have been received favorably for blending in with home interiors. The television also offers 4K QLED picture quality.
