Clean Cult has begun distributing its refillable, low-waste cleaning products in approximately 1,800 Target stores across the United States and on Target.com. The rollout coincides with the closing of a $5 million Series B extension, a funding round led by existing Series B investors with participation from Sage Hill Investors, Maywic Select Investments and others. The company plans to use the capital to support its next phase of national retail expansion.
The Target assortment features 17 stock keeping units spanning hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent and all-purpose cleaner. Clean Cult’s patented paper-based cartons pair with newly redesigned aluminum spray bottles and multi-enzyme sheets to form a modular refill system. The updated packaging, priced competitively with leading natural brands, is complemented by three new signature scents—Pink Grapefruit, Water Blossom and Fresh Rain—each intended to enhance different areas of the home.
Chief executive Ryan Lupberger noted that the Target partnership aligns with the retailer’s goal of achieving zero waste to landfill in U.S. operations by 2030. By offering sustainable alternatives through a mainstream retailer, Clean Cult aims to broaden consumer access to circular cleaning options without raising costs.
The company’s expansion follows a successful launch at Costco and draws on previous backing from investors including Zac Efron, Kevin Hart and Whitney Cummings. With this latest retail agreement and funding infusion, Clean Cult seeks to scale its environmentally focused home-care system and reinforce its position within a growing market for low-waste household products.
