CloroxPro has announced the expansion of its Clorox EcoClean product line with the introduction of Clorox EcoClean Disinfecting Wipes. These wipes are Design for the Environment (DfE)-certified and made with a 100% plant-based substrate and a naturally-derived citric acid active ingredient that kills 99.9% of germs without using bleach, ammonia, or alcohol.
The Clorox EcoClean Disinfecting Wipes are designed to clean and disinfect without harsh chemical odors and contain 38% less plastic. They are suitable for use on various surfaces such as doorknobs, countertops, tables, and desks, effectively tackling grease, grime, and germs, including cold and flu viruses, norovirus, and COVID-19.
Kyra Caskey, Senior Director of Marketing at CloroxPro, emphasized the growing demand for eco-conscious cleaners and disinfectants. She noted that the new wipes provide cleaning professionals with an eco-friendly alternative that performs as effectively as leading professional disinfecting wipes.
The new disinfecting wipes are part of the Clorox EcoClean product line, which also includes:
- Clorox EcoClean Disinfecting Cleaner: A ready-to-use disinfectant cleaner with a plant-based active ingredient that kills 99.9% of illness-causing germs in under two minutes, including cold and flu viruses, COVID-19, norovirus, Staph, and MRSA.
- Clorox EcoClean All-Purpose Cleaner: A ready-to-use cleaner formulated without parabens, dyes, phthalates, phosphates, petroleum solvents, or SLES, effective for use in restrooms, workspaces, and school eating areas.
- Clorox EcoClean Glass Cleaner: A non-ammoniated, ready-to-use product that leaves glass and mirrors clean and streak-free, designed to remove dirt, smudges, and fingerprints.
Caskey added that the expansion comes at a time when effective, eco-conscious product solutions are in high demand. As of April 2024, certified eco-conscious products are required for new custodial contracts in federal buildings, and 75% of US states have Environmental Purchasing Policies in place. CloroxPro aims to help customers meet their sustainability goals, and the new disinfecting wipes support this commitment.
All Clorox EcoClean products use 25% post-consumer recycled plastic packaging and can help facilities achieve sustainability targets, including LEED, ISSA CIMS – Green Building, and Healthy Green Schools and Colleges standards.
