Corn Nuts has expanded its snack lineup with the launch of partially popped corn kernel flavors, marking the brand’s first foray beyond its traditional crunchy kernels. The new format combines the light texture of popcorn with the characteristic hardness of Corn Nuts, aiming to offer an alternative for occasions ranging from road trips to game-day gatherings.
Three flavors are available in 3-ounce bags, each with a suggested retail price between $1.99 and $2.49:
- White Cheddar: a creamy, cheddar-flavored coating balanced against the kernel’s crunch.
- Movie Theater Butter: a butter-infused seasoning designed to replicate the taste of cinema popcorn.
- Kickin’ Cheddar: a spicy cheddar blend that adds heat to the familiar corn kernel base.
According to brand manager Tim Bortner, the partially popped kernels are intended to strike “the perfect balance between the signature crunch of Corn Nuts and the light, airy texture of popcorn.” The product is being distributed on a limited basis through select convenience outlets, including 7-Eleven, Speedway and Circle K locations.
Each 3-ounce package is designed for single-serve convenience, reflecting the brand’s research indicating that consumers visit convenience stores an average of 266 times per year. By introducing a hybrid snack format, Corn Nuts seeks to offer an option that fits both traditional snacking occasions and on-the-go lifestyles.
The partially popped corn kernel line is currently available at participating retailers while supplies last.
