DiGiorno is partnering with Marvel Studios for the release of Deadpool & Wolverine in theaters on July 26. This collaboration includes the introduction of limited-edition pizzas inspired by the characters. These pizzas will be available in the frozen aisles at retailers nationwide starting June 2024.
The new pizza varieties include the Wade Special, a sweet and salty combination of pineapple and black olives; Gimme Chimi, a chimichanga-inspired pizza with spicy cumin sauce, beef, jalapeno, cheddar, and mozzarella; Spicy Wolvie Pie, a meat lover’s pizza with pepperoni, chorizo, and bacon; and Maximum Pep, featuring a large amount of pepperoni. Most of these pizzas come with a cut-out Deadpool mask on the back of the box.
Kimberly Holowiak, Senior Brand Manager for DiGiorno, stated that the company aims to tap into mainstream culture by pushing culinary boundaries with unique innovations and flavors. This collaboration is part of their effort to engage with fans through creative and bold product offerings.
From June 17 to August 26, fans can visit DiGiorno.com/deadpoolandwolverine to enter for a chance to win prizes. These include a trip to Los Angeles with a private chef, a stunt masterclass, limited-edition merchandise, and Fandango movie tickets to see Deadpool & Wolverine.
Holly Frank, Walt Disney Studios VP of Partnership Management and Operations, expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting the robust media campaign and character-inspired pizzas.
In addition to the new pizza varieties, there will be a special packaging takeover of DiGiorno Original Rising Crust Ultimate Pepperoni and Four Cheese pizzas. DiGiorno’s marketing campaign will include digital, social media content, and a new television commercial.
