From November 14 to January 7, the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California, transforms into a winter wonderland with new festive entertainment, seasonal décor and limited-time experiences. Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle at Disneyland Park will sparkle with more than 80,000 twinkling lights, ice-like turrets and nightly “snowfall” on Main Street, U.S.A. Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends will don shimmering green, red and gold outfits that pay homage to the resort’s 70th anniversary celebration.
Returning holiday favorites at Disneyland Park include “A Christmas Fantasy Parade,” the “Believe in Holiday Magic” fireworks spectacular and the seasonal overlays on Haunted Mansion Holiday and “it’s a small world” Holiday. Guests who wish to secure prime viewing for the parade can book the guided Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort tour, which includes reserved seats and insider commentary.
Over in Disney California Adventure Park, the Disney Festival of Holidays brings cultural traditions to life with festive music, dance performances and themed food marketplaces serving dishes such as braised pork belly adobo. On select days, Disney ¡Viva Navidad! takes over Paradise Gardens with Mexican folklórico dancers, mariachis, Brazilian samba performers and appearances by Disney characters. Festival guests can purchase a Sip and Savor Pass for six food or nonalcoholic beverage samples at participating locations.
The Downtown Disney District and on-site hotels will also shine with seasonal decorations, nightly “snow” shows and special offerings like Chip and Dale’s Ornament Trail. New dining experiences at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa include Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast for dinner and Daisy’s Holiday Pajama Party for breakfast and brunch. Shoppers will find exclusive holiday merchandise, including the Mickey Mouse Family Christmas Collection and collectable festive treats.
Guests planning a multi-day visit can take advantage of up to 20 percent off select three-night stays at the Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and The Villas at Disneyland Hotel from August 17 through December 19, subject to availability. Throughout the holiday season, select 70th anniversary entertainment such as “World of Color Happiness!” and the Tapestry of Happiness projections will continue alongside the festive offerings.
