Dovetail Workwear has announced a partnership with John Deere to create a new apparel collection aimed at women in the agricultural sector. This initiative stems from a mutual goal of acknowledging and supporting the contributions of women in agriculture. The collection is designed with input from female farmers, ensuring that their specific needs are met throughout the design and testing processes.
The workwear line emphasizes functionality, featuring high-stretch, midweight fabrics and practical designs such as split hems that accommodate footwear. Historically, women have played vital roles in agriculture, often working alongside men and taking on additional responsibilities during challenging times. Currently, women constitute a significant portion of the agricultural workforce, with 36% of all U.S. farmers being women and 56% of farms having female producers and decision-makers.
The collaboration is intended to empower women in farming and related trades by providing them with tailored workwear that enhances their performance in the field. Sara DeLuca, co-founder of Dovetail Workwear, stated, “We are thrilled to partner with John Deere to honor and support the extraordinary women in agriculture.” Lauren Willis, Global Director of Brand Licensing at John Deere, noted that the collaboration is based on genuine discussions with women engaged in agricultural work, aiming to help them feel confident in their attire as they navigate their demanding roles.
