McDonald’s has announced a collaboration with the upcoming film A Minecraft Movie, which is set to be released in theaters on April 4. As part of this partnership, McDonald’s will introduce the A Minecraft Movie Meal and A Minecraft Movie Happy Meal at its U.S. restaurants starting April 1 for a limited time.
The A Minecraft Movie Meal includes a choice of a Big Mac or a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, accompanied by medium fries and a drink, along with a limited-edition collectible. Customers opting for the Chicken McNuggets Meal will also have the opportunity to try a special Nether Flame Sauce, inspired by the game, which features a blend of crushed red pepper, cayenne, garlic, and sweetness.
For families, the A Minecraft Movie Happy Meal will feature one of twelve film-themed figurines or Block World toys, and each meal will include a scannable code that unlocks an exclusive digital game related to the A Minecraft Movie universe.
The collectibles from the A Minecraft Movie Meal are designed to represent various McDonald’s characters and menu items, with each item accompanied by a card that provides a code for unlocking a unique skin in the Minecraft Marketplace. These collectibles include items such as the Big Mac Crystal, Birdie Wings, Fry Helmet, Grimace Egg, Soda Potion, and Zombie Hamburglar.
Additionally, purchasing the A Minecraft Movie Meal through the McDonald’s App will grant customers a one-time redeemable code for the McDonald’s Add-On pack in Minecraft, which enhances gameplay with McDonaldland characters and tools. Jennifer Healan, McDonald’s VP of U.S. Marketing, stated, “When approaching any partnership, we look for the authentic role our brand can play in it.” This collaboration aims to create a seamless experience for fans of both McDonald’s and Minecraft. The meals will be available while supplies last.
