Free Rein Coffee Company has introduced its Free Rein Reserve collection, which consists of a premium selection of small-batch artisanal coffees available nationwide. The coffees are slow-roasted in small batches and hand-packed at the company’s roastery located in San Angelo, Texas. This collection includes options in Ground, Beans, and Pods formats, featuring hand-selected beans combined with all-natural spices such as ground cinnamon, turmeric, and cayenne, based on recipes developed over 20 years.
The roast profiles were primarily created by Scott Decker, a U.S. veteran who operated the San Angelo roastery for two decades under the name Longhorn Coffee Company. In 2022, actor Cole Hauser and a group of entrepreneurs acquired the company, rebranding it as Free Rein Coffee Company in 2023. The company’s mission is to support those who serve the community and country, including military personnel, veterans, first responders, nurses, and teachers, by contributing a cup of coffee for every bag sold.
The Free Rein Reserve collection includes several distinct offerings. Cinna-Blend is a medium roast infused with high-grade ground cinnamon. Concho is a light to medium roast that combines Indonesian and Guatemalan Arabica beans, offering subtle fruit and spice notes. San Angelo Sunrise is a medium roast that incorporates cinnamon, turmeric, and black pepper for a spiced coffee experience. Pecos is a dark roast sourced from Ethiopia, Guatemala, and Indonesia, known for its intense flavor profile. Lastly, Kona is a single-origin medium roast from Hawaii, characterized by low acidity and floral and fruity notes.
According to CEO Arlyn Davich, the company aims to broaden access to its unique flavors through these recipes, which emphasize high-quality beans and spices while ensuring a smooth drinking experience.
