GoPro has officially launched its new camera, the HERO, priced at $199. This model is noted as the smallest 4K GoPro camera to date, weighing just 86 grams. The HERO is designed for versatility and durability, making it suitable for a variety of users including travelers, creators, families, and adventure enthusiasts.
The HERO features a compact design that is 35% smaller and 46% lighter than the HERO13 Black. It is waterproof up to 16 feet (5 meters), allowing for use in various environments, from underwater activities to outdoor adventures. The camera includes built-in folding mounting fingers for compatibility with GoPro’s extensive range of mounts.
This new model emphasizes ease of use with an intuitive touch display and one-button control, making it accessible for users seeking a straightforward camera experience. The touch display allows users to frame shots, change modes, and check battery and SD card status. The HERO also connects to the GoPro app for easy content transfer and remote control.
In terms of image quality, the HERO can capture Ultra HD 4K video and 12-megapixel photos, with the ability to record slow-motion footage at 2.7K resolution. GoPro’s HyperSmooth video stabilization is integrated into the camera, enhancing video playback.
