GoPro is now shipping the Anamorphic Lens Mod for its HERO13 Black camera. This accessory is designed to enhance the performance of the HERO13 Black, enabling creators and filmmakers to achieve cinematic video quality. The Anamorphic Lens Mod offers a 21:9 aspect ratio and an ultra-wide field of view, while minimizing distortion, making it suitable for professional use. It is priced at $129.99 and is available for purchase on GoPro’s website as well as through international retailers.
The Anamorphic Lens Mod is compatible with the HERO13 Black’s Auto Detect feature, which automatically recognizes the lens and adjusts the camera settings accordingly. This feature allows for in-camera de-squeezing, providing immediate video playback and facilitating easier post-production editing. Additionally, the lens is waterproof and built to endure various environmental conditions.
Chris Rogers, a GoPro Creator and commercial filmmaker, stated, “Anamorphic Lens Mod and HERO13 Black have expanded what I can create with my GoPro.” He emphasized the lens’s ability to capture dramatic perspectives comparable to more expensive professional setups.

Later this year, customers will have the option to purchase the HERO13 Black bundled with the HB-Series Lens Collection for $699.99.
