Hunt Brothers Pizza will introduce its first-ever barbecue chicken pizza as a limited-time offering across participating convenience stores beginning June 16. The summer item features the brand’s original crust covered with sweet barbecue sauce, a blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, diced onions, and a generous portion of grilled chicken, finished with the company’s Just Rite Spice seasoning. Customers can order it as a whole 12-inch pie or as a single-slice “Hunk A Pizza,” which amounts to one quarter of a full pizza.
The pizza adds variety to Hunt Brothers’ rotating menu of limited runs, a strategy the Nashville-based company says drives repeat visits and incremental profits for its more than 9,000 store partners. Director of Marketing Dee Cleveland noted that the new flavor aims to give consumers “another reason to visit their local c-stores” as summer travel and road-trip season ramps up.
Hunt Brothers operates the largest branded pizza program in the U.S. convenience-store sector, providing equipment, ingredients, and marketing support to independent operators. Its standard menu includes customizable whole pizzas and grab-and-go slices made on site, allowing stores to offer hot food without a full kitchen.
The barbecue chicken pizza will be available only while supplies last, and Hunt Brothers has not indicated whether the item could become a permanent fixture. Past limited releases, including buffalo chicken and chicken bacon ranch, typically return on a seasonal basis if they generate sufficient demand.
