Husqvarna has introduced two new robotic lawn mowers designed for commercial applications: the Automower 535 AWD EPOS and the Automower 580L EPOS. This development aligns with the company’s ongoing efforts to enhance autonomous solutions in turf management, specifically targeting golf courses, sports fields, and facility maintenance. The announcement precedes the GCSAA Conference and Trade Show scheduled for February 3-6, 2025, in San Diego, California, where these models will be presented to turf care professionals.
The Automower 535 AWD EPOS is tailored for use in hilly terrains and is suitable for medium-sized commercial properties. It is capable of managing slopes up to 70%, utilizing All Wheel Drive technology. Key features include warning lights, firmware updates through FOTA, and a five-blade cutting system, allowing it to effectively operate in areas of up to 0.9 acres.
In contrast, the Automower 580L EPOS is designed for larger areas, specifically targeting golf course roughs, fairways, and sports fields. It can handle high-quality turf across two acres, boasting an 80W cutting motor and an adjustable cutting height down to 10mm. Additional features include rotating wheel brushes, advanced object avoidance capabilities, and a robust rubberized exterior that offers protection against impacts.
Husqvarna’s Vice President of Sports & Golf, Dave Plaster, emphasized the importance of these new models for professionals in turf management, noting the increasing demand for reliable autonomous solutions. The Atlanta Athletic Club in Georgia has successfully integrated Husqvarna’s Automower and CEORA systems for their golf course maintenance, reporting significant improvements in turf health within a few months of implementation.
The Automower 535 AWD EPOS is set to be available in February 2025, while the Automower 580L EPOS will be released in March 2025. These additions to Husqvarna’s product line further establish the company’s leadership in the field of autonomous turf care technology.
