Oceania Cruises has announced the introduction of its French restaurant, Jacques, on its newest vessel, Allura, which is set to launch in mid-July. Named after chef Jacques Pépin, who serves as the Executive Culinary Director, Jacques has gained popularity among guests on the existing ships Marina and Riviera.
The restaurant will also be featured on Vista, Allura’s sister ship, starting in October 2025. Both ships will offer a range of dining options, including the Polo Grill, Toscana, and Red Ginger.
Frank A. Del Rio, President of Oceania Cruises, emphasized the significance of Jacques in the company’s culinary approach, stating that Chef Pépin’s contributions are central to their philosophy of providing high-quality cuisine at sea. The collaboration with Executive Culinary Directors Alexis Quaretti and Eric Barale aims to enhance the menu with new dishes while retaining beloved classics.
Chef Pépin expressed enthusiasm for developing new recipes alongside Chefs Quaretti and Barale, focusing on innovative presentations of traditional dishes. Chef Quaretti highlighted the importance of incorporating personal culinary memories into the new menu, blending classic French bistro elements with contemporary influences.
The updated menu will feature popular items from Jacques, alongside new offerings such as duck with Grand Marnier sauce and veal medallions with morel sauce, as well as new vegetarian options. Classic desserts like Crêpes Suzette and profiteroles will also be available.
Additionally, Jacques will enhance the dining experience with tableside service for select dishes and new tableware to enrich the dining atmosphere.
Del Rio noted that the addition of Jacques to Allura and Vista reflects Oceania Cruises’ commitment to honoring its culinary heritage while looking forward to future developments.
