The LEGO Group has announced a collaboration with Nintendo to launch new LEGO sets inspired by the Animal Crossing video game series. The sets aim to bring the virtual world of Animal Crossing into physical form, offering five different play experiences that allow builders to explore the game’s world and characters.
The LEGO sets have been designed for easy assembly and high customization. For example, elements such as window frames can be switched between buildings with a simple click. The sets are adaptable and can be mixed and changed, allowing builders to create their own unique worlds.
The new range is targeted at builders aged 6 and up and includes various build experiences. These include Julian’s Birthday Party, where builders can celebrate with the character Julian; Bunnie’s Outdoor Activities, which allows for role-playing outdoor adventures; Kapp’n’s Island Boat Tour, offering a boat ride to another island; Isabelle’s House Visit, where builders can help Isabelle and Fauna customize Fauna’s house; and Nook’s Cranny & Rosie’s House, where builders can stock up the shop or visit Rosie’s house.
Simon Kent, Creative Lead and Design Director at the LEGO Group, emphasized the focus on creativity and role-play in both the Animal Crossing game and the new LEGO sets. Aya Kyogoku, Game Producer of Nintendo Co., Ltd., highlighted that the sets offer multiple ways for kids to express their creativity, just like in the game.
The Animal Crossing video game series has been popular since its first release in 2001. The new LEGO Animal Crossing sets will be available globally in LEGO Stores, through all retailers, and on the LEGO website starting March 1, 2024.
