Leica has announced the launch of its new ZM 12 watch collection, which reflects the company’s commitment to minimalism and design principles. This collection builds on the previous ZM 11 series and introduces a smaller 39 mm case, available in either stainless steel or titanium, depending on the model. The ZM 12 features a dual-layered dial that enhances its aesthetic through variations of light and shadow, while a small seconds sub dial at 6 o’clock adds to the watch’s symmetry. The indices and hands are illuminated with Swiss Grade A Super-LumiNova, ensuring visibility in low-light conditions.
The ZM 12 is powered by the Leica Calibre LA-3002, developed in collaboration with Swiss movement specialists at Chronode. This automatic movement includes 38 jewels and offers a timekeeping accuracy of -4/+6 seconds per day, with a power reserve of approximately 60 hours. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour and is tested in five positions to ensure precision.
Dr. Andreas Kaufmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Leica Camera AG, stated, “Every addition to the ZM Watch Collection is an opportunity to showcase our philosophy of merging technical excellence with minimalist design.” The ZM 12 collection includes four models: ZM 12 Steel Blue Orange, ZM 12 Steel Silver Grey, ZM 12 Steel Olive Black, and ZM 12 Titanium Chocolate Black. Each model features interchangeable straps, allowing users to customize their watch to fit personal style or occasion.
Leica’s history of innovation and quality spans over 150 years. The ZM 12 watch collection represents a continuation of this legacy, emphasizing functional design and mechanical craftsmanship. The ZM 12 Steel Silver Grey, ZM 12 Steel Olive Black, and ZM 12 Titanium Chocolate Black will be available globally at Leica Stores, the Leica Online Store, and authorized dealers starting February 27, 2025. The ZM 12 Steel Blue Orange model will be available from April 2025, with retail prices beginning at $6,800.00.
