Martin Guitar has announced the introduction of two new signature models at The 2025 NAMM Show, namely the D-28 Billy Strings and the D-X2E Billy Strings. These guitars are part of a broader lineup that includes the refreshed Standard Series and the D-3 Millionth milestone acoustics. The D-28 Billy Strings and D-X2E Billy Strings are designed to reflect the sound and style of GRAMMY-winning artist Billy Strings, combining Martin’s craftsmanship with his musical artistry.

The D-28 Billy Strings model is inspired by a 1940 D-28 owned by Billy. It features a 25-inch scale length, which reduces string tension and facilitates fast playing, along with a custom nut width and a modified low oval satin neck for enhanced comfort. The guitar is constructed with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides and a spruce top, providing a resonant tone. Additional design elements include herringbone trim and antique white binding, with nickel enclosed gear tuners and an ebony fingerboard.

The D-X2E Billy Strings model serves as a more accessible alternative, also featuring a 25-inch scale length and custom nut width. It is built with Brazilian rosewood-patterned HPL back and sides and a solid spruce top, delivering a robust tone suitable for various acoustic styles. This model includes nickel open gear tuners and Martin E1 electronics, making it stage-ready. Both guitars come with a custom paper label featuring Billy’s signature and graphic.

Billy Strings emphasized the importance of providing accessible instruments for aspiring guitarists, highlighting that the D-X2E is designed for those who wish to learn without financial burden. Both models will be showcased at The 2025 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California, through January 25.
