Purina Puppy Chow and Kitten Chow have recently appointed two new members to their executive team, naming Pudim, a CavaPoo puppy from Overland, Kansas, and Ika, an American shorthair kitten from Queens, New York, as their new Chief Snuggle Officers. Pudim is recognized as the first puppy to hold this title, while Ika is noted as the first kitten to achieve the same distinction.
In their roles, Pudim and Ika are expected to serve as symbols of inspiration for pet owners, emphasizing the importance of providing proper support and nutrition for the healthy development of pets. Each of these new officers will receive a $25,000 salary, and in recognition of National Puppy Day, Puppy and Kitten Chow will donate an additional $25,000 to Greater Good, a charity focused on assisting animals affected by natural disasters.
The selection process for the Chief Snuggle Officers involved over 4,000 applicants across the country. Pudim and Ika were chosen for their charm and the heartwarming stories shared by their owners. Pudim, who joined his family during Christmas, is known for his playful antics and ability to brighten the household. Ika, a rescue kitten, was adopted after a chance meeting and has become a cherished member of his family.
The initiative to find Chief Snuggle Officers was aimed at raising awareness about the significance of proper nutrition during the critical early stages of a pet’s life. Eric Willis, Chief Marketing Officer at Purina, stated, “We’re excited to welcome Pudim and Ika to the Purina family to help inspire pet owners everywhere.” The selection process was completed with public voting determining the final winners.
